OUR LOVE STORY
How we met
Our first date was a Sky Boxing night in Manchester with Emilee and Lyndsey. Richard turned up with a dodgy back and a walking stick, which wasn’t exactly suave, but it did the job. Amanda wasn’t looking for anything serious, but after a bit of persistence (and a final ultimatum), she agreed to another date. The rest is history.
Fast forward to
Four years on, we’ve shared trips to Croatia and Barcelona, lots of laughter, and the everyday moments that really matter. Richard became part of Amanda’s family, loving the girls as his own, and Amanda embraced Richard’s sons just as wholeheartedly. Somewhere along the way, we became a proper blended family - and it’s been pretty special ever since.
The proposal
Amanda always said she wanted a meaningful proposal with family nearby, not a big public moment. So on Christmas Day 2024, Richard hid the ring in the Christmas tree, beneath a bauble for Amanda’s late dad. With festive distractions in full swing and perfect timing, he asked - and she said yes.
